This step by step breakdown details the procedure to follow for a Commercial Pilot Licence with Instrument Rating and Flight Instructor Rating, Grade III.

The course, known as the 'Trained to Instruct Package' is, in Loutzavia management's opinion the option you should consider to launch your career as a commercial pilot. It includes all the courses for the licences and ratings listed below.

  • Private Pilot Licence

  • Instrument Flight Rating (Single Engine)
  • Commercial Pilot Licence (Single Engine)
  • Flight Instructor Rating Grade III

This 'Trained to Instruct' Commercial Pilot's Course was specifically designed by our in-house Grade 1 Flying Instructor and Designated Examiner, Jannie Loutzis. Jannie has some 20 years flying experience, including 12 years training experience during which time he has accumulated over 6000 flying hours.

  • Once completed, the candidate is qualified as a Commercial Pilot (Single Engine) with Instrument and Grade III Flight Instructor
    ratings.
  • The schedule above is based on the minimum hours required by the SA Civil Aviation Authority to obtain the
    qualification. Note that any additional Flight or Ground Training will attract additional cost.
  • This course can be completed in a period ranging from 9 months to 24 months to suit your financial needs.
  • The course can be completed on a full-time or a part-time basis.
  • All landing fees at Wonderboom Airport are included in the cost quotation. However, landing fees away from base will be additionally charged for after completion of the Private Pilot Licence.
  • Our quotations are calculated based on fuel prices at Wonderboom Airport. Higher fuel charges at other airports will be
    additionally charged for.
  • Payment for the course can be made at intervals on a "Pay-as-you-fly" basis.
  • Our quotations are valid for 30 days and are inclusive of V.A.T.
